Our Pride exists to be transformative—not just celebratory.
We aim to build long-term, liberatory change for our communities. These are the values that guide us and that we ask our collaborating organizations to understand and uphold:

1. We Are Political

We believe Pride is, and always has been, political.

We are committed to making society better for our community. This means expressing critique, building alternatives, and working toward collective liberation.

We recognize and value the work of other groups and events that may not be explicitly political. We welcome collaboration where our goals align.

However, wherever we participate as QPG, we do so as a political group with clear commitments. This includes a firm stance against pinkwashing and the depoliticization of Pride.

2. We Build Community

We prioritize relationships, mutual support, and collective care. Community is at the heart of everything we do.

3. We Invest in Grassroots Power

We are committed to the long-term strengthening of queer grassroots activism. We support movements that grow from the ground up and challenge the status quo.

4. We Are Always Learning

We understand that growth comes through reflection and dialogue. We make mistakes. When we do, we aim to talk about them openly and compassionately. We believe in “calling in” rather than “calling out”—fostering growth over shame.

5. We Work to Dismantle Oppression

We actively oppose systems of oppression, including (but not limited to): ableism, racism, fascism, cis-hetero-sexism, classism, capitalism, and colonialism. Our politics are intersectional and rooted in justice.

2025 Theme: Building Resistance

Rooted in our political commitments, our love for community, and our drive for liberation, Building Resistance is our theme for 2025.

We understand resistance in many forms:

  • As collective care and community building
  • As thriving in a world not built for us
  • As joyful defiance
  • As direct action and long-term strategy

Building Resistance means shaping a world where our communities don’t just survive—we flourish.
