Queer Pride Groningen 2025 is back again!
Over the last couple years, we have seen the growing rise of the far right, the cost of living crisis and the on going genocide in Palestine, Congo, Sudan and Kashmir, we have seen how trans and queer rights have become more vulnerable and threatened under these current times we are in. That’s why Queer Pride Groningen’ theme is ‘Building Resistance’. We have seen corporations no longer supporting Pride this year to laws being passed to deny the existence of transgender people from daily life, to LGBTQ+ violence being on the rise and attacks on members of our community that are promoted by the media from far right figures and politicians to anti LGBTQ+ groups and TERFS. This is why Queer Pride Groningen believes as a community, we must come together and resist these growing threats and uniting together to fight for our liberation just as those figures who fought for us in the past.
Demonstration:
As we always say “Pride was a protest” that is why QPG will be organising our demonstration on Saturday 28th June 2025, at the Grote Markt, Groningen from 14:00-16:00. It will be filled with speeches and performances by activists and those of our community alongside a March around the city and info market stalls. We will update the website about how the day will be organised, accessibility and safety and code of conduct! It will be important to take note of as we want the demonstration to not only be safe but also a collective community in which we are stronger and united together.
Programme:
Queer Pride Groningen is organising multiple events in collaboration with activists and organisations across the month of June. These events range from social events to theoretical events with some that require an entry fee or sign up, you can check out the programme on our website or Instagram for details about the upcoming events.
Our Programme can be found on our Instagram page.
Accessibility:
We aim to organise the demonstration as accessible as possible:
- The route of the march is about 2km long and is wheelchair accessible,
- We will have the back of the march to be quiet for those who are overwhelmed by sounds such as music, drumming and loud chanting, this will be announced at the demonstration.
- Masks, earplugs and water bottles will be available at the demonstration and will be provided by the safety team in case you need some as well as a quiet spot.
- We are currently looking for a sign language interpreter, translations might be provided in case of language barrier.
- Sitting spaces will be indicated with some X on the ground.
Route for the March:

The route will be alternated this time as there is construction work happening around Herestraat, so take precaution when marching along the street, the safety team will help guide the demonstration around that area.
We look forward to seeing all you at the demonstration and the events happening throughout this QPG 2025.
